NO play was possible in any of our team’s fixtures as the big freeze took an early grip on the fixture list.

The likes of Evesham, Pershore and Shipston’s football, rugby union and hockey clubs were all without a game at the weekend.

Evesham United’s home date with Chesham United in the Zamaretto League Premier Division was postponed due to a frozen pitch.

Their clash at home to Sailsbury City at St George’s Lane, scheduled for Tuesday night, was also called off. Pershore Town’s date with Coventry Copsewood was cancelled due to a frozen pitch in Midland Combination Premier Division.

In hockey, Evesham’s visit to Old Wulfrunians in the ENER-G Midland League West Midlands Premier fell foul of the weather, as did Pershore’ men’s first-team’s trip to Rugeley in West Midlands Two.

With no league or cup fixture scheduled, Evesham RFC under-25s developmental side’s trip to Ross Road to face Ledbury seconds was also postponed.

Our teams will be hoping for better luck with the weather this weekend, to get back in action after the enforced break.
