BOURTON Roadrunners’ members produced some fine displays at the district schools trials.
Lewis Grey had a superb run, finishing second senior boy, with Connor Shoemark and James Outhwaite also impressing as they finished fourth and 10th.
In the girls’ event, Beth Pudifoot showed her class with a well-deserved third.
With limited attendance at the second cross-country race of the series, held in Cheltenham, there was some great racing on the day.
Sarah Harper ran a strong race, finishing 14th overall and second veteran 40. She was well suppoted by Jan Short (60th) and Susan Hunt (85th).
In the men’s race, Dennis Walmsey led the men home in 29th after a long-term injury.
He was followed by a strong-running Tim Hemming in 41st. Next was Ewen Smith in 68th.
A hard-fought tussle between Chris Hartley and Tony Goodwill was edged by the former, as they were 91st and 92nd respectively.
Norm Lane finished 171st to make up the team with Richard Bufton 172nd.
Dave Marchant finished off for Bourton in 186th place.
