Team Bath Buccaneers III 2, Bretforton Ladies 10.
BRETFORTON Ladies banished their Bath away day blues with a stunning victory over the Buccaneers.
The scoreline justified the effort and commitment shown by the entire team as Bret were in complete control for virtually the whole game.
Hat-tricks for Deb Slatter, Julie Hall and the outstanding player-of-the-match Hayley Whitehouse were topped by a fine short corner strike by Donna Whitehouse.
Bret’s domination started from the outset as they went five goals up in the first-half.
Whitehouse completed her three-goal blitz and Hall and Slatter chipped in before the break. But Bretforton’s defence were not merely onlookers in this rout.
As the hard work by Sarah Cook, Daisy Wheeler and Kate Mitchell and with goalkeeper Vicky Watkins making some decent one-on-one saves, this kept all but two of the Bath attacks out.
Amy Trottman had a solid game, covering every inch of the pitch and turning defence into attack on numerous occasions.
This helped Bret captain Lisa Workman to lead her team to the best victory of the season so far.
