EVESHAM RFC head coach Gary Diston blamed a lack of sticking to a game plan for his side’s 13-0 defeat at Old Yardleians in Midlands Three West (South).
The struggling Lower Albert Road side crashed to their sixth defeat in eight games after it had been scoreless at half-time.
Evesham are without a fixture on Saturday after scheduled opponents Aston Old Edwardians were forced to rearrange their North Midlands Senior Vase second round clash, after still being involved in a higher-ranked competition.
Diston was particularly disappointed with Saturday’s result, seven days after beating fifth-placed Old Leamingtonians 24-5. Evesham’s latest defeat saw them fall to third-from-bottom on 14 points after eight games.
Evesham’s next league game sees them host Redditch on Saturday, December 4 (ko 2.15pm).
Diston said: “We had a game plan at the line-outs but did not execute it.
“They were big in their forwards. It was one of those days.
“We should have played better than we did and need to keep our performance levels up.
“The squad is young and still developing but I’m confident we will get there.”
