A GOAL in injury-time secured Pershore Town’s passage through to the next round of the Smedley Crooke Cup.
In the first-half, Boldmere took the lead after only eight minutes when a cross from the left fell to Ryan Ward, who turned sharply in the box to score from 10 yards.
Town fought back well without creating a clear-cut chance.
In the second-half, Town continued to press forward and the Boldmere keeper pulled off several good saves. Boldmere were down to 10 men following a foul on Town’s Stuart Whalley.
Town equalised in the 85th minute when a cross from the right was headed back across goal and Dean Cox forced the ball home.
The winner came in the 95th minute when a cross found the head of Paul Ireland, who powered his header into the roof of the net to give Town victory.
