PERSHORE TOWN FC triumphed 2-0 away at Cirencester Town.
The side returned to winning ways after a heavy 8-2 defeat to Bromsgrove Sporting in the Worcestershire County Cup.
The sides were in a deadlock in the first half, with neither able to take control of the match or take the lead. Both sides did have chances on goal, but neither Pershore nor Cirencester was able to consistently dominate the match with a string of attacking moves.
Pershore emerged as the leading side in the second half, however, Cirencester was able to keep out their numerous attacking opportunities in the opening minutes.
However, Cirencester would have the first key opportunity against the run of play. Their striker broke through and found himself in a one-on-one situation against goalkeeper, Scott Loader. Loader was able to pull off a fantastic save to keep the scores level, and the win well withing Pershore's sights.
It was ultimately Pershore who broke the deadlock. Although, it wasn't easy, requiring a 20-yard screamer from Steve Webb to give Janes' side the lead.
Aidan Clark would go on to double the lead soon after, and put the win well within Pershore's grasp. Clark showed some great footwork to beat his man, before finding the net from distance.
A deserved win from a tough fixture sees Pershore return to form after their cup bout in the week.
Next Saturday (November 23), Pershore return home to play Corsham Town in the league.
