EVESHAM UNITED are preparing to face up against Helston Athletic, this Saturday (November 16).
United will return to the The Spiers and Hartwell Stadium to face up against Helston, following two strong performances on the road.
The fist came in the form of a 1-0 victory over Melksham Town. In a tough game in Wiltshire, Joshua Barlow made the difference for United, scoring a wonder strike from 25-yards out. Evesham then spent much of the second half with just ten men, being forced to hold strong to see through their one goal lead.
Most recently, The Robins were then on the road again, facing up against Larkhall Athletic, a side that came into the fixture in outstanding form - having won four of their last five games.
Evesham were able to secure a point on the road, courtesy of a strong header from Toby Raison. As the corner came in, Raison was able to out muscle his defender on the far post, heading the ball back across the keeper.
Despite going into half time in the lead, Larkhall did manage to get one back in the second half, when their player found himself free on the edge of the box, and finished into the top corner.
Evesham will hope that their strong showings on the road will put them in good stead as they play one of their toughest games this season, next.
United play Helston Athletic in a playoff-place clash, a side that has been in mesmerising form so far this season, losing only two of their 14 games played at this point.
Athletic were undefeated up until late last month, when they lost 4-3 in a thriller against Malvern Town on October 26.
Most recently they edged a close result at home, winning 2-1 over Bishops Cleeve.
Evesham United currently sit in fifth place, just inside the playoff spots, and four points behind Helston Athletic.
The game kicks off at 3pm this Sunday (November 16).
