A man who received a kidney from his wife is set to represent Great Britain at a transplant competition.

Lee Hutton, a member of Bourton Roadrunners, joined his wife Claire Williams at Oxford's parkrun this weekend with the charity Transplant Sport.

Dr Paul Harden from the Churchill Hospital, Oxford, and chair of the charity, was joined by several transplant patients, hospital staff, and supporters to promote the benefits of organ donation and the life-changing impact of transplantation.

Hutton is the recipient of a live donation from his wife and is a "great example" of the benefits of organ donation.

He has won four medals at this year’s British Transplant Games and has been selected to represent Great Britain at the World Transplant Games in Dresden, Germany, next August.

Some Roadrunners set new personal best times at parkruns across the planet on Saturday (November 9).

From the group, Eva Shoemark recorded a time of 26:54 in Battersea, London, and Helena West completed Cannon Hill in 26:13.

Several members ran at Chipping Norton School, including Edward Hare, who finished first overall with a time of 18:39.

The group were also represented internationally by Gillian James and Nicky Patterson who ran in Harkerville, South Africa, with times of 34:55 and 40:33 respectively.

Other noteworthy performances include Jaq Underwood at Riverfront, Newport, with a time of 24:21, and Alex Pye at Stratford-upon-Avon with a new personal best time of 17:07.

Claire Williams finished in 36:17 at the Oxford event behind Hutton, who achieved a course personal best of 24:46.
