PERSHORE TOWN produced an outstanding display in winning 7-1 against Malmesbury Victoria in the uhlsport Hellenic Football League.
Pershore are in hot form, scoring 12 goals in their last two league games, after beating Fairford Town, away from home, last time out.
Pershore came out firing on all cylinders - accumulating 19 shots on goal across the game. It would be James Baldwin who would convert the first chance, putting the home side ahead early on.
Baldwin picked up the ball on the left and cut inside, before firing home to give Pershore the lead.
Soon after, Danny Janes' side would double their lead, as Jake Donnelly was taken down in the box by a Malmesbury defender - Ben Tilbury stepped up and calmly converted the penalty.
Malmesbury did grab one back, after pressing hard and stealing the ball high up the pitch, however worries of a comeback were soon put to bed when Baldwin grabbed his second just before the half time break.
Pershore compounded their victory in the second half. It didn't take long for Zaq Hussain to score the sides fourth - beating two players and finishing at the near post.
Hussain continued his dominance down the right wing, beating his man and playing in Harlie Price who headed home and extended the lead to 5-1.
As the match drew to a close, Pershore would score two more - first Devonn O'Sullivan tucked it past the keeper into the far corner, then Aidan Clark capped off a resounding victory by lifting it over the keeper.
The result sees Pershore Town move to thirteenth in the league.
Speaking after the game, manager Danny Janes said: "Full credit to Malmesbury, I thought their shape in the first half made things difficult for us. At times they jumped and pressured the ball, other times they would sit off and deny us any space.
"The quality we have, really showed in that second half and they just couldn’t live with the level of some of the players. We scored some great team goals which is really pleasing as our principles are embedded within those goals.
"The victory takes us into a mini break now where we can re-assess and reflect on where we are."
Pershore Town's next game sees them play away, in the cup, against Bromsgrove Sporting. The game takes place on Tuesday, November 12.
