JOSH Willis and Toby Nicoll both bagged braces as Pershore Town put an end to their miserable losing run in 2024 with a 4-2 victory at Hereford Lads Club in the Hellenic League Premier.
The Plums had lost all eight of their matches in all competitions to begin the new year but won for the first time in two and a half months on Saturday after twice coming from behind.
Sam Griffiths' fifth-minute opener for the hosts was quickly cancelled out by Nicoll's first of the afternoon. Petar Tonchev's through ball was latched onto by the striker, who tucked home into the bottom corner.
But Lads Club retook the lead on the stroke of half-time via the head of Isaac Powell to leave Pershore staring down the barrel of defeat once again.
But a confident display in the second-half turned things round as another precise ball from Tonchev allowed Willis to smash home the equaliser before Nicoll's second gave them the lead.
Willis then secured the three points with a brilliant curling finish into the top corner.
The Plums have eight games remaining in the 2023/24 campaign and they will be hoping this result can give them the boost required to push them up the table.
