PERSHORE Town suffered a sixth consecutive Hellenic League Premier defeat on Saturday as they lost out to Westfields in a five-goal thriller at the Recruit 12 Community Stadium on Saturday.
The Plums had taken the lead in the game when Dylan Parker's through ball allowed Tony Nicoll in to round keeper Keiron Blackburn and roll the ball into the empty net.
But the hosts' lead did not last long. A free-kick played into the box was met by the head of Cal Davies, with Pershore shot-stopper Ryan Young unable to prevent the equaliser.
The visitors turned the game around just after the half-time interval and it was another set-piece that caught Pershore out as Archie Muirhead's corner was headed home by Oli Barnes.
Westfields then extended their lead with ten minutes to go as Luke Williams' shot smashed off the bar and trickled over the line via a touch from Young in the Pershore goal.
But the home side responded immediately through Oli Burke's close-range finish to set-up a tense finale.
But despite their efforts, Pershore were unable to find an equaliser and instead fell to a sixth league defeat in a row. Their record in 2024 now reads at played eight, lost eight as their struggles continue.
