EVESHAM United dumped higher-ranked Bromsgrove Sporting out of the Worcestershire FA Senior Cup at the quarter-final stage.

The Southern League Division One South side knocked out the Premier Division Central strugglers 1-0 at the Spiers & Hartwell Jubilee Stadium on a chilly Tuesday evening.

The Robins followed up Saturday's 1-0 league success at Westbury United as this time Ethan Moran was the match-winner on 40 minutes with a shot from distance into the bottom corner.

Evesham started strongly with a goalmouth scramble seeing numerous efforts denied before Will Owen's deflected shot was tipped wide.

Sporting player-boss Mike McGrath had a second-half header ruled out for offside before Evesham closed out the victory with Jordy Ngathe named sponsors' man of the match.

Alvechurch and Kidderminster Harriers have also made progress in the competition with Stourport Swifts or Redditch United set to join them.

Meanwhile, fifth-placed Pershore Town could not trip up title-hopefuls Corsham Town after going down 2-0 at the title contenders.

Dean Griffiths' double put Corsham in charge before the visitors created enough chances in the second half but failed to find the net. 

Pershore host Fairford Town at the Recruit 12 Community Stadium on Saturday (3pm) before heading to Brimscombe & Thrupp on Wednesday (7.45pm).
