JOSH Willis inspired Pershore Town to a thumping 5-0 Boxing Day win over Hereford Pegasus as they closed the gap on the top four in the Hellenic League Premier.
Willis scored twice in the opening 45 minutes as The Plums scored four first-half goals.
Sam Clark put the hosts ahead with a close-range finish before Dylan Parker doubled their lead at the second attempt after seeing his initial shot saved by the keeper.
Willis then took the game by the scruff of the net, travelling down the wing before turning the defender inside out and smashing it into the top corner to make it 3-0.
He then added a fourth with his second of the day just a couple of minutes later, slotting past the keeper after being put clean through on goal by Parker.
Pershore took their foot off the gas in the second period but a late stunned from Connor Mort capped off a wonderful afternoon for the hosts.
The result that takes Pershore onto 39 points, two behind fourth-placed Royal Wootton Bassett Town.
It also means Pershore are now undefeated in their last six games in the league and Lewis Marston's men look set to compete for a play-off place as they go in search of back-to-back promotions.
Their next game comes on Saturday when they go to bottom-of-the-league Wantage Town, who already look set for relegation with just seven points from their 22 games in the 2023/24 campaign.
