THE Vale Golf and Country Club Seniors Section held a very successful individual Open to kick-start the summer season.
Attracting 94 players from 27 different clubs, there were separate prizes for visitors and Vale Members.
The winning Visitor was Roger Painter from Ludlow Golf Club with 38 points. Second was Alan Chadwick from Cotswold Edge GC with 36 points and third was Steve Rose also from Ludlow GC with 35 points.
The winner from The Vale members was Peter Azizi with a brilliant 41 points followed by Rick Hawkins with 38 points and Mel Lock with 37 points.
Nearest the pin was won by Derek Norman from Minchinhampton GC whilst the nearest the pin in two was Dave Warden, also from Minchinhampton.
Chris Hague oversaw the raffle on the day, which raised £600 for the Captains' Charity; Alzheimers UK. The next event is the pairs open on July 12.
