EVESHAM United manager Mike Ford admitted he had "no complaints" after their 3-0 semi-final play-off defeat to Hamworthy United on Wednesday night.
Hamworthy were good value for their win as first-half goals from William Fletcher and Simon Griffin, both brilliantly assisted by Eddie Hodge, was added to by a 58th-minute penalty from captain Tony Rolls to deservedly book their spot in Monday's final with Sholing.
Ford was quick to praise the hosts for their performance: "They have beaten us now three times this year, I have no complaints about the result this evening."
Evesham had their chances after the break to reduce the deficit but were unable to convert before captain Rolls scored from the spot to make it 3-0 and end the tie.
"First-half, they were at the races and we weren't. They scored two good goals and then in the second-half we played some lovely stuff," added Ford.
"We could have had a few goals ourselves but what we do is dominate a game and then we go and concede a penalty, that kills it for us. They can sit off, defend in numbers and not worry about playing.
"But full credit to them. I do not always give the opposition that much credit but they have done us three times and today, in that first-half, they did a proper job on us.
"It could have been a different game if we had taken our chances in that second-half but we didn't.
"We will look at the video but ultimately we conceded a goal when we were on top and that has been us all season."
Overall, the defeat will be a black mark on what has been a successful campaign for The Robins. Having only just survived on the final day last season, to be finish the current campaign in fourth and reach the play-offs must be seen as a bit step forward.
"The lads have been brilliant this season and they have dug ourselves out of a hole in the last 10 days. We have given the supporters and the club some hope ahead of next season," he said.
"We need to build on what we have achieved this year but we need to be the best team in the league next year."
