EVESHAM United were brought back down to earth with a thud after their mid-week thrashing of Larkhall, as they were beaten 2-0 by relegation threatened Lymington Town on Saturday.
Having put five past Larkhall Athletic on Tuesday night, Evesham were unable to reach the same heights as they lost ground on the race for the play-offs in what was a shock defeat for Mike Ford's men.
Mitchell-Carlton Speechley-Price put the hosts 1-0 up five minutes before the break and Jireh Oyebamiji made sure of the win nine minutes from time.
It was Lymington's sixth win of the season and hands them a lifeline in their bid to stay in the league, now only in the relegation zone on goal difference.
As for The Robins, they are now two points off the play-off places with 13 games of the regular season to go after losing their third game in four matches.
