TWO late goals denied Pershore Town in their pre-season clash with Step 3 side Redditch United on Tuesday.
Sam Clark and Wil Beach scored in the first 12 minutes of the game to hand the Plums the perfect start before Bernard Mensah halved the deficit in the 23rd minute.
A trademark screamer from Clark restored the two goal buffer in the second-half but United's Calum Flanagan scored twice in the final 14 minutes to ensure the visitors avoided defeat.
Pershore are back in action this evening against Halesowen Town at home. Kick-off is at 7.45pm.
As they did throughout last season, Pershore did not look like a side three levels below their opponents on Tuesday.
They were 1-0 up after just six minutes when Clark reacted first to stab home.
Only 12 minutes had past when that lead was doubled as Beach scored from a carbon copy of the opener.
Redditch got back into the game when Mensah swept home following a flowing counter attack down the left hand side.
It was proving to be an even affair but Clark would prove again why Redditch boss Matt Clarke was interested in him over the summer.
The midfielder curled home a fantastic finish much like the one in the Senior Cup Final against Worcester City to make it 3-1.
But Redditch's Flanagan scored two cracking goals to draw level and salvage a draw.
