LEAGUE One outfit Cheltenham Town proved too strong for Evesham United last Saturday as the Robins kicked off their pre-season programme with a 4-0 defeat at the Spiers & Hartwell Stadium.
Goals from Cheltenham's Zac Guinan and Ben Williams made it 2-0 before half-time and after the full starting eleven was changed 60 minutes, George Lloyd and Liam Sercombe added two more late on in front of 680 fans.
It was manager Mike Ford's first official game in charge of Evesham and it was a display full of character, despite the result.
The Robins had a number of new faces, including the former Worcester Raiders centre-half Jordan Stoddart in the heart of their defence.
The Robins' next fixture of the summer sees them make the trip to Bewdley Town next Saturday for a 3pm kick-off against Chris Cornes' men.
They then have matches with Banbury United, Bath City and Pershore Town to come in the next two weeks before North Leigh, Redditch United, Thornbury and Halesowen finish their pre-season schedule.
Whilst Evesham were in action, Pershore do not play until Tuesday night against Arrow Valley at Alcester.
