PERSHORE Rugby Club turned in another stylish show on their return to Piddle Park by beating Midlands Four West (South) promotion hopefuls Bromyard 27-12.
The hosts' performance was built around forward dominance and strong defence.
Pershore, playing into the wind in the first half, had the lion's share of possession but struggled to convert the pressure with the Bromyard defence stopping everything thrown at it.
The only score came midway through the half when Bromyard reacted quickest following a charge down and dotted down under the posts to go 7-0 up.
But the second period turned out to be Pershore's best 40 minutes of the season.
Using the wind to pin the visitors back, the Pershore pack got well and truly on top.
With the pressure building and attacks coming, Bromyard were briefly down to 13 men following two yellow cards.
The pressure finally told as Pershore scored from two driving lineouts with veteran prop Damien May grabbing a brace.
Bromyard scored a well-worked effort to get back into the game at 15-12.
But Pershore hit straight back with more strong running from the forwards leading to a try for second row Joe Gisborne.
The hosts kept going and finished off strongly with a try for evergreen number eight Martin Hope.
Seven points from the boot of fly-half Dave Oliver left the final score at 27-12 with Pershore picking up another deserved five league points, climbing to fourth in the table.
