FORMER Worcester St John’s and Team Echelon cyclist Ollie Morgan competed in the Challenge Ciclista Mallorca.
The professional early-season stage contest involved four separate UCI 1.1 level races with a combined general classification.
Pershore’s Morgan, 20, represented Sweden’s Memil Pro Cycling for the first time and at his highest level.
He said: “I was chuffed to get a ride in this massive race and wanted to gain as much experience as I could.
“I took a finish result in the first and last stages, both around 170 kilometres in distance.
“On the two harder mountain days I used my efforts in helping the team.
“We got to stay in a great hotel in Palma with the world tour and pro continental teams so it was an amazing experience.
“The race was covered on Spanish TV so it was exciting to see myself and hear my name.”
Morgan hopes for a European calendar of races in 2020 as he bids to turn professional.
