CENTRAL defender Sam Thompson scored a double in Evesham and Badsey Hockey Club men's 2-1 home win over Winchcombe.
The Vale side should have netted twice in the first five minutes before Thompson buried a drag flick from a penalty corner.
Winchcombe levelled early in the second period but a late penalty corner was converted by Thompson again for the winner.
Evesham and Badsey went up to third in Verde Recreo League The Marches Division One.
The men's A team drew 3-3 at Cirencester D in Division Two.

But Painswick took over to level by half-time and went in front early in the second period.
Evesham and Badsey went down to 10 players for the final 15 minutes but had a late effort saved in the West Clubs League Severn Division Three clash.
