PERSHORE held visiting Midland Men's Hockey League West Midlands One leaders Wolverhampton to a 0-0 draw.
The hosts set up with a counter-attacking formation and soaked up early pressure from a strong team.
As the game settled down Pershore started to create the clearer chances with Tony Handley and Steve Miles going close.
Pershore conceded a couple of sloppy short corners and cleared one off the line.
They shut out the opposition in the second period while short-corner chances at the other end went begging.
On Saturday Pershore host second-placed Stafford who are five positions and five points ahead.
The seconds visit South West Four leaders Kingswinford.
Fourth-placed hosts Evesham and Badsey's first team beat table-toppers Gloucester City B 3-2 in Verde Recreo League The Marches Division One.
The A team won 2-1 at Lansdown C in Division Two.
In the West Clubs Women's League, Bretforton saw off Westberries seconds 3-2.
Bretforton seconds beat Bourton and Sherborne seconds 3-0 in Severn Division Two.
Evesham and Badsey edged out Cirencester fourths 1-0 in Division Three.
