EVESHAM'S St Egwin’s Middle hosted the Butterfly Table Tennis England Schools Team Championships' county group stages.
The formidable girls' under 16s squad from Evesham's Prince Henry’s High School swept aside their inexperienced opponents from Bromsgrove School 7-1.
There was a surprise in the boys' age group when the much younger team from Prince Henry’s, led by Harvey Gough, beat Bromsgrove School 5-3 to make it a double.
Bromsgrove School did the double at under 19s level.
The winners go through to the zone final stage at Wood Green Academy, Wednesbury, in January.
They will meet the best from Birmingham, the Black Country, Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire.
