EVESHAM Rugby Club followed up an opening-day win with another Midlands Two West (South) victory, beating hosts Spartans 13-12.
Whereas the first success was based on offensive flair the second was all about strong defence.
Evesham started on the front foot with an early try for Will Bugg converted by Mike Diston.
Spartans hit back with an unconverted effort before Evesham dominated territory for the rest of the half.
Diston missed a couple of penalties before slotting one for a 10-5 half-time lead.
The lead was extended after the break with Diston landing another penalty.
Spartans then camped in the Evesham half but the defence was up to the challenge, only conceding a converted try.
On Saturday Evesham entertain Barkers Butts who have also started the season with two wins.
Pershore lost 13-8 at home to Coventrians in Midlands Four West (South). They head to Dunlop on Saturday.
