A YOUNG swimmer from Pershore has been selected to represent Team GB at this weekend's Scottish National Swimming Championships in Edinburgh.
David Annis from Pershore Swimming Club has been picked as part of the GB Youth squad for the event that takes place between December 8-10 2023 before he then flies off to Canada with the team to compete in what will be his first international meet.
The 17-year-old has starred for many years in swimming competitions across Worcestershire and the wider Midlands region, but will now get his chance to compete on the national and international world stage as he looks to kick on in his promising swimming career.
"David is a superb role model," said Pershore Swimming Club chairman, Ian Heeks. "He is an exceptionally hard-working, dedicated, committed and competitive swimmer.
"With his outstanding talent and achievements, he remains graceful, modest and a genuinely great young man, he is an inspiration to all the younger swimmers.
"We are privileged to have David as a member of Pershore Swimming Club, he is a credit to both his Club and County. We wish him the very best of luck in his exciting journey ahead."
