It was a closely-fought battle as three dozen golfers flocked to the greens of a local club for a prestigious contest.
Vale Golf and Country Club held its Senior Club Championship on Monday, with 36 members playing 27 holes in a stroke play format.
Playing 18 holes in the morning, and a further nine in the afternoon, the winner was the player with the lowest gross score.
Ed Mountney came out on top with a score of 130, followed by both Mike Roberts and Nigel Smith on 131, the latter being crowned runner-up by a countback.
Mountney was also one of just three players to manage a two on the day, along with Mick Heard and Wil Reading.
Captain of the Seniors Section, Brian Bunn, presented Mountney with the trophy.
