POPULAR Evesham tea room JellyPickleJam has welcomed customers back for the first time since the third national lockdown.
Lisa Whelan, owner of the Vine Mews cafe, said: “We’ve been trepidatious waiting to get back to something close to normal after such a long time with my staff on furlough.
“Now we’re open, it’s an absolute delight to see everyone enjoying catching up with friends again, and to get back into full swing.
“It has been financially tough and we’ve tried to use our government funding wisely to make changes and safety improvements as effectively as we can.”
She continued: “We’re particularly pleased with our new courtyard gazebo area, which allows customers to sit in the fresh air come rain or shine.
“We pride ourselves on our diligent approach to Covid-19 hygiene and safety measures, as everyone’s health is paramount at this unusual time, regardless whether people have been vaccinated. we all still have our part to play to tackle the virus.”
As a small thank you to all their customers, JellyPickleJam is offering a free Belgian chocolate with any hot drink purchased this week.
She added: ”It’s merely a token but we felt our customers deserved a little treat for their patience and support over the last six months.
“The second lockdown has affected most of us in one way or another so we all need to continue supporting each other and maintain the positives of community spirit and camaraderie we’ve developed.
“I really hope we can help Evesham get back on it’s feet and that residents and visitors alike support independent businesses as much as possible.”
