AFTER launching a new website earlier this year, Hayloft Plants, of Pensham, near Pershore, has gone a step further and launched a mobile-friendly version.
The site has been specifically designed for the ever-increasing group of people using Smart phones as their primary method for getting online.
Users of the new mobile website can search and browse by many different categories, find the best value plant collections and even watch videos of the plants, right from their pockets.
They no longer need to pinch and zoom in to see the text on their tiny screens; everything is formatted logically and easy to read.
“After analysing how users were accessing the Hayloft Plants website we were astounded that over a quarter of the web visitors were using mobile devices,” said IT director Simon Fletcher.
“The existing website had already been newly rebuilt to accommodate tablet users for those with iPads and the like, but we found many more visitors were actively using their Smart phones to both browse and purchase.
“These mobile users were not just browsing.
“From an internal study we found that site visitors from iPads were twice as likely to buy than regular visitors to the site and when they do purchase they tend to spend much more.”
