MORETON Show, one of the Cotswold's largest one day country events, has signed a four-year sponsorship deal with the property agents Butler Sherborn as part of a drive to boost membership.
The company, which has offices in Cirencester, Stow on the Wold, Burford, Oxford, Wantage and London, is sponsoring the members marquee at the Moreton Show showground on Saturday, September 3. Moreton in Marsh and District Agricultural and Horse Show Society, which has organised Moreton Show since 1949, is to re-launch its membership scheme and the Butler Sherborn sponsorship will help to enhance the benefits to members throughout the year as well as on show day.
Sam Butler of Butler Sherborn – which is celebrating its 25th Anniversary - said: “We have been involved with Moreton Show as a sponsor for 10 years and are proud to be associated with one of the biggest one-day agricultural shows in the country. We want to help make the members marquee a real focal point and somewhere that will attract new members. We need to support our local shows and we hope that this sponsorship will help boost the membership of the Society.”
Around 25,000 people are expected at this year’s show, where the attractions include, Tractor Ted, the nation’s favourite little green tractor, sharing centre stage with more than 2,000 animals, 350 trade stands, a popular dog show, the thrills and spills generated by motorbikes and the Lamb National as well as the finest locally-produced food and drink.
Katharine Loyd, Moreton Show chairman said: “We are thrilled that Butler Sherborn is supporting our drive for new members. The Society has so much to offer and with this generous long-term support, we will really be able to make a difference. It shows a commitment to the British farming community, for which we are very grateful.”
The day also features the 50th Anniversary of Moreton Show hosting the National Poll Hereford Cattle Show and the 125th anniversary of the establishment of the Cotswold Sheep Society. All the information on the show and how to buy tickets are at www.moretonshow.co.uk.
