TWENTY-seven ploughmen competed in the Moreton Show and Moreton Young Farmers Club Ploughing Committee match at Ken Brain’s champion Peters Farm, Broadway.
They took part across six classes alongside a class for novice/young farmers competitors.
The top prize of best overall ploughman went to Hugo Hoyle, of Abingdon.
He said: “It has been a fantastic day, the soil was ideal and I am thrilled. It’s been a friendly ploughing match with a good turnout.”
The weather was glorious and spectators turned out in force to see the action. Stuart Mace, a member of the organising committee, said: “We are very grateful to Ken Brain for his hospitality, the competitors for supporting us and the judges for their time.
We’re already looking forward to next year’s match.”
