Ilmington Singers Is a village stalwart group that has sadly passed into history. It was recently disbanded after more members retired (mainly through age as well as failing ability. There is now an opportunity for a new group of singers to take on the mantle. It is suggested that someone who belongs to one of the village’s younger or organisations (eg the 20/20 Club, the Yoga Club etc) might like to lead a choir. Alternately is there someone who would organise a few folk who would like to get together and sing.
The Ilmington Singers would hand over (a) a healthy bank balance (b) a keyboard (on loan) (c) a cupboard full of music (d) a place to practice (subject to permissions) A senior member gives thanks to all those over the years have been with the Ilmington Singers. He says “The choir has lasted more than 30 years and we’ve had a lot of fun!” Any enquiries should be addressed to Lyndsey Martin on 01608 682425.
