This month the AGM was due for the Moreton in Marsh (Evening ) WI, so we brightened up proceedings by having members demonstrating various crafts afterwards. We learnt to make book marks, decorations for the Christmas tree, fold paper napkins and to make tags by quilling. Copying the experts’ examples proved a highly entertaining and fruitful way of spending the evening, and we proudly took our results home.
During the month we have started a walking group and enjoyed our first outing going through the fields to Batsford and Dorn. We have also enjoyed another lunchtime get together at the local garden centre. We had a presentation about the impact of Operation Christmas Child in the 20 years since the shoe boxes were sent to Romania, and as a result several members have donated packed boxes.
Our next monthly meeting will be on December 9 at 7.30pm in the WI Hall, when Susie Harris will give a talk on Christmas cookery. Visitors and new members are always welcome, for more details contact Helen 01386 700909 or Jo 01608 650821.
