'Cotswold Wardens' was the subject of our talk at the November Meeting. It was well presented by Vivienne McGhee. The Wardens had to acquire many skills such as dry stone walling, hedge laying and leading walks to name but a few. All this voluntary work contributes to keeping the Cotswolds 'An area of outstanding Natural Beauty'. Vivienne was warmly thanked by Gill Thomas.
Our new committee was introduced by our president, Jenny McLeish. Jenny continues as president with Mary Osborne as secretary and June Haycock as treasurer. Veronica Cook, Jana Foist, Susan Lees and Brenda Whittigham completed the committee. June was thanked for arranging the Christmas Party at Broadway Golf Club on December 8 and members were asked to give their names if they wished to go and to choose from the menu before November 27.
Pebworth WI are to put forward a name before February 1 2011 to win a memorial bursary to Denman College which is a 2 night stay.
Jenny McLeish, Pat Cotgrave and Susan Lees are entering the Village Quiz on November 12 at 7.30pm in the Village Hall. There is a Rag Rug workshop at the home of Penny Bowen on November 6. Maureen Buxton has agreed to be our auditor for 2011. Members were reminded of a Bonfire Night on November 5 at the home of Dawn and Alistair Adams with the usual soup competition. Proceeds to the Shakespeare Hospice. The Village Hall Christmas Party is on Saturday December 11 and a Choir Concert on December 5. The competition 'A cotswold View' was won by Fran Geering 2nd and 3rd Barbara Bicknell.
