A FOUNDER member of a village Scout group has received recognition for his 40 years of service to the group. Reg Francis, of 1st Salford Priors Scouts, was presented with a commemoration certificate at the West Warwickshire District St George’s Day parade held at Tanworth in Arden by Scout County Commissioner Andy Shorter. Reg, together with friend Tony Houghton, formed the Salford Priors Scout Group in 1970 and continues to support them by helping with the Beaver section. Group Scout Leader Malcolm Spriggs said it was only through the dedication of people like Reg who give their time freely, that they could continue to provide Scouting to young people. Malcolm also asked anyone interested in becoming a Scout leader to get in touch on 07887 553545.
