NEARLY 2,400 suspects were arrested by South Worcestershire police between July and October the area’s new police chief has revealed. Superintendent Steve Cullen, the head of the area’s Territorial Policing Team, said that of those taken into custody 605 had been charged and appeared, or were due to appear, in court. A further 807 were bailed while inquiries continue. “As a policing service our people are becoming ever more professional and are continuing to develop their skills and experience in order to tackle everything from terrorism to anti-social behaviour,” he said. “That is why, as the new senior face of policing for South Worcestershire, I remain confident that, with the public’s support, we can continue to deliver a high-quality service.”
