VALE people braved the cold weather to have their say on which county council services matter most to them.
Officers are now assessing the results of a consultation event at Pershore Civic Centre last week as part of the council’s response to the financial challenges it faces over the next four years. Worcestershire County Council will have to make savings of up to £70 million by 2015, forcing it to review the way it delivers some of its services Potential savings worth just under £45 million have already been identified and residents were asked during the consultation to highlight which money-saving ideas they prefered.
One resident who took part, Fred Noble, said: “This kind of communication between the council and the public is absolutely essential.”
County council leader Adrian Hardman thanked all the people who took part in the consultation.
