OURSIDE Youth Centre in Evesham is holding two ‘silent discos’ in which youngsters are provided with a set of headphones to dance the night away – in total silence. A choice of tunes is on offer, with people able to choose which tracks played by a DJ they would prefer to listen to. Youth worker Amy Thomas said: “We really hope young people will take advantage of these fun events and join us for a really memorable evening.” The silent discos take place next Wednesday from 7pm to 9pm for those aged 15 and above and next Thursday from 7pm to 9pm for youngsters aged 11-14. The Ourside Youth Centre offers activities such as pool, table tennis, internet facilities and games consoles. Trained youth workers plan team games, activities and workshops for the young people to take part in including sports, arts and cooking. Every Wednesday from 6.30pm to 8.30pm is for young people aged 11 to 13. The centre is also open on Thursdays between 6.30pm to 9pm for young people aged 14 to 19 and Saturdays between 12.30pm to 3pm for those aged 11 to 19.
