AS if it wasn’t cold enough already, an ice rink was set up in Evesham’s Market Square at the weekend for skating superstars to show off their skills.
Following hot, or rather cold on the heels of last year’s event, the ice rink was a resounding success said Evesham town councillor Martin Hammon who helped to organise it.
“It went very well,” he said. “It was very cold on Friday but Saturday and Sunday were very successful. There were lots of families and we were busy all day. People told us they were glad the ice rink was back and we even recognised some faces that we saw this time last year.”
The ice rink made a loss last winter, and prior to the event Evesham town council was hopeful it would at least break even this year.
