IF anyone needed to know why so many of us hold the law in contempt they only have to read the Eveham Journal’s article last week “OAP has his shopping stolen by snatch thief.”
It beggars belief that we have a particularly unpleasant crime, the perpetrators of which were apprehended within two hours and the only punishment handed out was for the offender to write a letter of apology to the victim. As if that is not bad enough, the police herald this as a bold new initiative under the grand name of Community Resolution and for some reason they cannot tell us who this criminal is! Something to do with human rights no doubt. What a mess we’ve got ourselves into. C W Davies, South Littleton
