The infants’ division of the Honeybourne School gave a concert in the Village Hall 75 years ago to raise funds for the Christmas party.
The Journal of 1935 reported: “The hall was crowded, and the vicar, the Rev W J Joyce, occupied the chair.
“Many of the items revealed certain aspects of the work done in school in games and percussion band work and the children gave a very interesting display, They were in the charge of Mrs E Moore, the infants’ teacher, and Mrs F H G Lock was at the piano.
“During the interval, the Rev W J Joyce congratulated Mrs Moore and all who had helped in the excellent performance the children were giving.
“Mr F H G Lock, responding on behalf of Mrs Moore, also thanked the parents for their support of Christmas activities connected with the school. The whole of the second half was taken up by a Nativity play, a feature of which was the fine costumes, settings and lighting.”
