OURSIDE Youth Centre in Evesham is hosting a disco with a difference next week.
The Worcestershire County Council centre is holding two 'silent discos' in which youngsters and teens are provided with a set of headphones to dance the night away – in total silence.
A choice of tunes is on offer, with people able choose which different tracks played by a DJ they would prefer to listen to.
Youth Worker Amy Thomas said: “We really hope young people will take advantage of these fun events and join us for a really memorable evening.”
The silent discos take place on Wednesday, December 15 from 7pm -9pm for those aged 15 plus and Thursday, December 16 from 7pm – 9pm for people aged 11-14.
The Ourside Youth Centre offers a safe environment for young people to join in various activities such as pool, table tennis, internet facilities and games consoles. Specially trained youth workers plan team games, activities and workshops for the young people to take part in including sports, arts and cooking.
Every Wednesday from 6.30pm - 8.30pm is 'Junior Evening' for young people aged 11-13. The centre is also open Thursdays between 6.30pm – 9pm for young people aged 14 -19 and Saturdays between 12.30pm - 3pm for those aged 11-19.
