FIREFIGHTERS spent more than two hours tackling a fuel fire at the site of the new Bengeworth school.
Two engines attended the blaze at Kings Road at about 9pm on Sunday (5)where a digger was well alight.
On arrival, they also discovered diesel from a 500 litre container was pooling underneath the vehicle and a nearby dumper truck.
They got the fire under control but had to call for assistance from a specialised foam vehicle at Upton-upon-Severn in order to put it out.
The flames also caused two tyres to explode.
Watch manager, Julian Jenkins, said they were open minded about the cause of the fire.
Police are investigating the incident and currently treating it as unexplained.
