EARLY morning patrols will be carried out by Worcestershire County Council’s gritting fleet in a bid to combat icy conditions.
The Met Office is predicting road surface temperatures to dip below zero overnight and snowfall of up to three centimetres.
The council’s winter maintenance teams will continue to monitor the situation throughout the weekend and respond to conditions accordingly.
Grit bins are currently being refilled across the county and residents are asked to only use supplies for roads and pavements and not on their own driveways.
In light of the forecast, motorists are again urged to take care on roads tomorrow morning as icy slush may result in challenging driving conditions.
They are advised not to assume roads have been gritted and to adjust their driving accordingly, as well as carry out maintenance checks.

Members of the public can also call the Worcestershire Hub on 08456 072005 for highways enquires or 01905 765765 for general enquiries.
