THREE students from Pershore High School have been nominated for West Mercia Police’s Young Good Citizen Award for their involvement and commitment to the local community.
Alex Smith, Rob Ireland and Andy Price are all senior students at the school and are, or have been, members of Pershore Youth Council. They were presented with plaques to mark their nominations by the Mayor of Pershore Coun Chris Parsons at Pershore Town Hall on November 22.
The awards are run in partnership with local education authorities to recognise young people aged 18 and under who have made an outstanding contribution to their community in the last year.
They are nominated for their acts of generosity and displays of community spirit that have made a difference to other people’s lives.
Chief Constable Paul West said: “The Young Good Citizen Awards are important to West Mercia Police - and very close to my heart - because for a number of years now they have highlighted the exceptional contribution many young people make to local communities across West Mercia.
“In fact, all the nominees are just the tip of the iceberg of the many thousands of young people who make a positive difference to other people’s lives and their communities on a daily basis. We should be proud of them all and welcome the opportunity to celebrate their success.”
