A BIDFORD-based charity is giving a lifeline to African children affected by HIV-AIDS, poverty and crime. Goodwill and Growth for Africa UK (GAGA) has taken on four new projects in South Africa which share the same commitment to help orphaned and vulnerable children and support communities devastated by HIV-AIDS and poverty. The role of Marriage Hill Farm-based GAGA will be to work, fund, partner and create ties with the organisations. Evesham town councillor and general manager Charlie Homer ran an outreach programme for 5,000 orphaned and vulnerable children for GAGA under its old name of God’s Golden Acre UK. He said: “Today’s fight on poverty and its collateral damage such as disease is about helping projects and organisations working in these areas to become self-sufficient and not dependent, in order that they can help children and their communities to do the same.” For more details, visit gaga-uk.org.
