SPORTING stars at Broadway First School proved themselves to be top of the class in an inter-school competition.
Children in years three and four took part in a ‘virtual’ pentathlon against nine other schools in their sports partnership and emerged the winners. The pupils in each school competed in five events at after-school clubs.
The results were then collected and compared to the achievements of youngsters at the other schools and points were awarded for the best performances.
Teacher and PE co-ordinator Sarah Thacker said the aim of the event was to increase participation. “The staff and pupils are all delighted with the result,” she said.
“We hope we can win it again next year.”
