A CAMPAIGN has been launched to help improve the finances of local pensioners.
The campaign centres on the fact that many pensioners, and those caring for the over 60s, are not claiming all that they are entitled to.
To help combat this older people across the county have been urged to call a dedicated number - 01905 363948 - to ask for a pensions check. They can also visit the Evesham Community Contact Centre, in Abbey Road, or Pershore’s One Stop Shop at the Civic Centre in Queen Elizabeth Drive.
Pensioners will then be asked some simple questions about their current financial situation. All information requested will be treated as completely confidential and if the older person or carer needs a check of the benefits they are receiving they will be referred to the Pension Service.
The local Pension Service offers a visiting service by appointment and will arrange to visit the older person or carer at home.
