EVESHAM Round Table celebrated its 60th birthday at Evesham Town Hall by inducting three new members.
The 85 Tablers, past and present, were joined by local dignitaries and Tablers from Tours in France for last Saturday’s event when the national president, John Kilshaw, inducted the three new members, Tim Ward, Stuart Lyon and Dan Kilby.
Evesham MP Peter Luff and mayor Coun Jim Bulman both paid tribute on behalf of the town and surrounding villages to the good works carried out by Evesham Round Table over the past 60 years.
Tablers in Evesham have been a familiar sight, especially over the weeks leading up to Christmas with Santa’s Sleigh and chairman David Brodie said: “Giving up time to raise money for local good causes, while having a good time and meeting new friends is what Round Table is all about.”
He added: “We’re keen to attract new members to esnure we continue supporting Evesham for the next 60 years.”
