TWO pyrotechnicians from Bricklehampton, near Pershore, have been selected for the UK team at the forthcoming World Fireworks Championships in Oman.

Andy George and Nick Moss will join fellow fireworks fanatics from around the world as they strive to impress the judges with an awe-inspiring display at the prestigious global event on the Arabian Peninsula.

Six of the best firework companies from China, Australia, the United States, Italy, and France have each been tasked with creating a 25 minute display set to music in the Al Qurum Natural Park, in Muscat, between December 6 and 18.

Up against the very best pyrotechnicians from the four corners of the Earth, the seven man strong UK team is set to present its display on Friday, December 10 and expect it to take them more than four days to set up.

Andy said: “We’ve just done a November display in our local village for the Elmley Castle Scouts and now we’re flying out to Oman to work with colleagues on something hundreds of time greater. It will certainly be an amazing experience to be amongst some of the greatest pyrotechnicians in the World.”
