A PROJECT to modernise the turbine house at Evesham weir in order to create renewable energy could begin by next summer after a delay of three years.
Beneco Energy Ltd had to apply for an extension of time on its application for alterations to the building and replacement plant at the building on Mill Bank, after three years expired since the proposals were originally given the go-ahead.
David Cross from Beneco Energy Ltd explained that the Governments changing policies on renewable energy meant that his company’s plans had gone back to the drawing board on a number of occasions; causing the hiatus in the scheme.
